Product Description

MIR Spirobank 2 Smart Spirometer with Oximetry Option for iPad

MIR Spirobank Smart 2 features careful design and user-friendly technology, making it the new standard in the field of portable spirometry. Functions quickly and intuitively with an icon-based navigation menu. FVC and VC tests with main parameters always activated.

The MIR Spirobank II Smart turbine spirometer with oximetry option is an easy-to-use handheld device showing numerical and curve results on an integrated screen. In addition, this model is supported by an iOS app (on request) with free updates, transferring all collected and secured data to the Cloud and accessible from an iPhone or iPad.

MIR technology is created by a Red Dot Award winning Italian-based design team. MIR is responsible for a range of advanced and internationally recognised spirometry solutions which have been designed and manufactured for use by medical practitioners and researchers for over twenty years.

Zone Medical currently supplies seven spirometry models: the MIR Minispir 2, MIR Spirolab 4 Desktop, MIR Spirobank 2 Basic, MIR Spirodoc, MIR Spirobank 2 Advanced, MIR Smart One Personal Peak Flow Meter and the MIR Spirobank 2 Smart. This user-friendly and portable model boasts advanced test interpretation with over forty-five spirometry parameters when connected to a PC and an additional oximetry option.

Who is it for?

The MIR Spirobank II Smart spirometer is particularly valuable to general practitioners, researchers and outpatient facilities. Non-respiratory professionals also benefit from this simple to use and interpret device which includes an icon-based navigation menu and immediate results of which up to 10,000 can be stored and searched at any one time. When connected to a PC the broad plethora of respiratory system tests also suit specialised medical professionals such as pulmonologists and cardiologists. The Spirobank 2 Smart all-in-one spirometer stores and transmits data to the PC and Cloud via USB, Bluetooth® Smart and an optional iOS app. Customised protocols are available through MIR allowing third-party health care and clinical trial project developers to run their own apps.

Medicare Rebates

The MIR Spirobank II Smart spirometer complies with the Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS) for two items: #11505 and #11506. These recently created or amended items encourage the use of well-performed spirometry in general practice.

Patient Benefits

The MIR Spirobank II Smart spirometer with optional oximeter is extremely user-friendly and features adult virtual assistant incentives and paediatric incentive animations with adjustable difficulty levels. On-screen animations engage the younger patient and encourage correct technique, producing accurate results in a notoriously difficult-to-measure group. Non-paediatric incentives increase compliance and result accuracy. In addition, general practitioners on call-outs can immediately assess patient results, improving patient outcome outside of a clinical setting. Uploadable results allow future reference of up-to-date and accessible patient data for multiple primary care providers.

Why the MIR Spirobank 2 Smart spirometer and oximeter?

The MIR Spirobank 2 Smart accurately measures the following parameters using iOS software or as a stand-alone device:

FVC, FEV1, FEV1%, FEV6 (not available for stand-alone), PEF, FEF25-75%, FIVC, Lung Age, VC, IVC

Integration of PC software via USB extends these parameters to include over 45 measured and calculated tests such as PIF, FEF50/FIF50, Time to PEF, Walk Test and tI. The optional oximetry function adds %SpO2 and pulse rate evaluation power to the stand-alone and app functions. PC based oximetry further extends these parameters to include T90, T89, T88, T5, 12s Index, SpO2 Events and Pulse Rate Events.

Real time Flow/Volume loops and Volume/Time curves allow for PRE/POST comparison, particularly of use in bronchodilator therapy evaluations in combination with WinspiroPRO® software.

Other Spirobank 2 Smart specifications include:

  •  Results immediately available on built-in backlit 2.5” HR display
  • Traffic light health indication
  • Supports Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese and Russian languages
  • Bluetooth® Smart data transmission
  • Patented paediatric ‘incentivator’ animations and adult virtual assistant incentives
  • Uploadable and searchable results
