Example Applications of the MS100 Infusion Workstation

Interventional radiology procedures such as:

  • DSA
  • Radioisotope therapy
  • Isolation rooms

Hybrid operating rooms equipped with fixed C-arms, CT scanners or MRI equipment, etc.

Remote Infusion Control for Radiation-Sensitive Procedures

During interventional radiology procedures, such as digital subtraction angiography, radioisotope therapy, and other radiation-based treatments, medical personnel are required to wear appropriate protective clothing. However, prolonged exposure to radiation may still pose health risks, particularly for clinicians who must remain close to the patient for extended periods.

For anesthesiologists, repeated or long-term facial exposure to radiation can increase the risk of cataracts and other radiation-related health concerns. Whenever patient safety allows, maintaining distance from the radiation source is strongly recommended.

When used together with HP Series infusion pumps, the MS-100 touchscreen workstation provides an integrated solution for remote infusion control and real-time monitoring of infusion status. This allows anesthesiologists to manage infusion therapy from a safer distance, helping reduce radiation exposure while maintaining effective patient care.

Isolation Room

Remote-control capability through an auxiliary human-machine interface is especially important when treating patients in isolation environments, including those with infectious diseases such as COVID-19. Medical devices such as ventilators, infusion pumps, and patient monitors may need to be monitored or adjusted frequently while minimizing direct contact with the patient care area.

The MS-100 allows medical personnel to monitor infusion status and adjust infusion therapy from outside the isolation room or ward. By reducing the need for staff to enter and exit the patient environment, it helps lower the risk of contamination, protects both healthcare workers and patients, and supports more effective cross-contamination control and management.

Intraoperative MRI

During MRI-guided procedures, including anesthesia, sedation, and other infusion therapies, infusion treatment may need to be adjusted while the patient remains inside the MRI room or hybrid operating room.

The MS-100 enables remote control of infusion therapy during MRI procedures, allowing medical personnel to monitor infusion status and adjust treatment without interrupting the MRI examination. This helps make infusion management in MRI environments safer, smarter, and more efficient.

When combined with the HP-80 MRI Infusion Workstation, the MS-100 provides an integrated MRI-compatible infusion solution suitable for use in both 1.5T and 3.0T MRI environments across major MRI system brands.
