The EXPlasma Z7 is a low-temperature plasma steriliser for dried medical devices and equipment. This class IIb medical device meets ISO 13485:2016 standards, is CE certified, and offers an effective, safe, fast, economical, easy to use, reliable, and flexible sterilisation method. With a 7L chamber, its compact design fits seamlessly into any workspace.

How It Works

The EXPlasma Z7 sterilises medical equipment through a process that involves hydrogen peroxide vapour and plasma technology. Initially, the steriliser creates a highly depressurised environment inside the sealed chamber. A specific amount of hydrogen peroxide is then injected and vaporised. When the medical equipment is exposed to this hydrogen peroxide vapour for a designated period, the hydrogen peroxide reacts strongly with the H+ ions present in the cell membranes of microorganisms, effectively destroying them. The plasma phase, which is composed of high-energy electrons and ions converts any remaining toxic hydrogen peroxide gas into harmless water vapour and oxygen.

Low Operating Sterilisation Temperature

The operating sterilisation temperature of the EXPlasma Z7 is below 60°C, which allows temperature-sensitive materials such as rubber and plastics, to be sterilized (unlike Autoclave sterilisers due to their high temperatures). Additionally, the low temperature, combined with the already fast sterilisation cycles, allows for rapid turnover of medical equipment, enabling immediate use after sterilisation.

Unique P · ART™️ and AMR™️ Technology

In general, low temperature plasma sterilisers are sensitive to moisture and temperature differences. If there is any moisture, or temperature differences, the hydrogen peroxide used as a sterilant may not fully decompose or be removed, potentially leaving residues on the medical device. This can affect both the sterilisation efficacy and the safety of the sterilised equipment.

The EXPlasma provides a solution that can help minimise these problems. The EXPlasma incorporates preheating and moisture removal through various technologies:

  • P · ART™️ Pouch Artificial Respiration Technology: a unique innovation by CUBE Instrument Inc. This technology enhances the penetration of the sterilant into medical devices, including those used for artificial respiration, significantly shortening the sterilisation time. Additionally, it is highly effective in facilitating temperature transfer and moisture removal.
  • AMR™️ Auto Moisture Removal: EXPlasma features an automatic moisture removal function, ensuring convenient and safe use even in the presence of minor moisture or slight temperature variations.

Fast Sterilisation

The total sterilisation time is either 8 or 15 minutes, significantly increasing the turnover of medical devices, making it ideal for busy environments. Note: total sterilisation time may vary depending on the usage environment.

Low Operating Costs

The sterilisation cost is economical, and similar to an Autoclave. Additionally, the vacuum system does not require oil changes.
